Last Day Celebration! All welcome!

The Art Bikers program wraps up for the season and participants are invited to come together to watch films created this summer and celebrate our time together this Saturday at Wonder'neath Art Society 2891 Isleville Street from 5 to 7pm. This is a potluck meal and final celebration.  All welcome (2nd floor location).

Last week of the 2017 season!

We are biking to ISANS Community Garden at 67 Glenforest Drive today and will be there from about 11-3pm!
~ Wednesday is a day of prep/packing up the studio.
~ Thursday,  we pop up at Ward 5's Neighbourhood block party (rain or shine) on Russell Street (between Gottingen and Isleville) from 2-4pm.  
~ Friday, we have our end of season with a final debrief and packing up the studio for the season. (Not open to the public.)
~ Saturday: join us at Wonder'neath Art Society 2891 Isleville Street in Halifax from 5-7pm for a potluck meal and final celebration. Participants are invited to come together to watch films created this summer and celebrate our time together. Free, all welcome (2nd floor location). Cyanotype Prints!

From our time with the community at Clayton Park Junior High - some human body size cyanotype prints! Participants placed their bodies, leaves, natural materials, and found objects across big prepared sheets.  Amazing results!

Cranky Theatre Story Characters

"Cranky theatre" (the hand cranked theatre built with children at "the Green"  is being brought back, with characters from the stories coming to life!  Meet some of the characters below: Rhino, Cheetah, and Creeper with scone!

Week of August 8-12th at the Green!

Beautiful Day at Bayers Westwood!

We have a long relationship with the folks in the Bayers Westwood community. we are always happy to go back to this community to see old friends and meet new ones. 

Parade costumes that just keep evolving! Fun with inventing costumes and  characters using found materials. Young participants figuring out all the ways of connecting creative bits and parts.

More than 50 participants of all ages joined us throughout the day!

So many special connections happening: sharing stories, songs, laughs. Thanks Bayers Westwood!

Bayers Westwood Tie Dye Day!

 Tie dye was the big request form our brainstorming ideas together. We tracked down t-shirts from a local merchant and loaded up the bike trailers with amazing colours, buckets, and t-shirts. A great creative time that continues Friday, August 4th 12-4pm. We are planning a celebratory parade!

A busy day with approximately 30 folks joining us at Bayers Westwood!

Bayers Westwood Playground

The Art Bikers visited Westwood Park Playground, located at 3315 Romans Avenue on Tuesday. We will be back again Thursday and Friday from 12-4 to have some fun with fabric and dye as suggested by the kids.

Africville Reunion and Celebration

It was a delight meeting families and making cyanotype prints at the 2017 Africville Reunion!  Here are some photos from our day together:

Commons: Pop Up Day!

Art Bikers had a great day at Point Pleasant Park! Thanks to everyone who joined them. Thursday, July 27 from 12-4pm they will be at the Commons in Halifax, near the playground. Join them for giant bubbles and secret messages in bottles, also POTIONS and storytelling!!!

Art Bikers with The Youth Project

Art Bikers will be filling their trailers with colourful supplies for a day with participants of The Youth Project.

Pop Up Day at Ardmore Park

POP UP DAY! Join us Wednesday, July 19 from 12-4pm at Ardmore Park! Awesome wooden shapes and colourful paint will be among the supplies on hand to add to and repair the Silly Faces Fence.  All ages, free art making in the community: hooray!
